After 10 days of an active social media life, I needed a break last week. You probably needed one too. Interestingly, it felt “exposing” for me to post a blog every day for ten days, and I think I had a “vulnerability hangover”, as Dr Brené Brown puts it. It has passed and it’s time to recapitulate.
1- Difficulty in asking for help is a common ego-challenge amongst leaders and an inevitable one to resolve in a hyper-connected century in which collaboration is indispensable. Knowing how to ask for help is a leadership skill that must be developed.
2- Communication is often all we have to make change happen. It can be magical, like an “Open Sesame” – or not. The good news is that we can always skill up.
3- There is no quick-fix solution. It’s all about self-awareness and practice, practice, practice. However, if you avoid being dramatic, self-deluded, petty, flattering, defeated, demanding, apologetic, manipulative, critical and testy – and you lean to be sober, realistic, generous, authentic, optimistic, considerate, confident, direct, respectful, and clear when asking for help- then, everything should work out very well.
4- Human flaws are inexhaustible reservoirs for humor. Let’s help our selves while having fun! It is my sincere intention, even if I’m completely fallible.

Dear Carole,
This series is a workshop & I hope to be in it someday. Your style of communication opens my heart to take risks….thank you!
