The current environmental crisis in Beijing with this unprecedented polluted cloud highlighted for me once again the non-sustainability of our current consumer society and the urgency of re-inventing a healthy one.
But this time, instead of feeling paralyzed by the complexity of the problem, I decided to offer one of my great and naive ideas:
What if, instead of building stuff that nobody needs, a collaborative team of innovative engineers (who would have first read my up coming book “The Bumpy Road to Collaboration”), would focus their talent and energy on building a mega-gigantic vacuum cleaner to aspire our clouds of pollution?
Then, the same innovative and collaborative team would build a space rocket…
… to send the vacuum cleaner bags full of fine particles…
… to Mars!!! Since on Planet earth…
… we don’t have anymore room to hide our pollution.
I hope that all my wonderful client-engineers will pick up on my idea.
Meanwhile, I commit to be more conscious of my consumption of stuff!

it’s like WALL E in reverse : instead of shipping the humans in a big cruise spaceship and leave behind a planet full of detritus, let’s send all the trash out there. In fact those collaboraties ingenious engineers may first have to tackle all the dangerous crap that is now floating around the earth courtesy of all the decaying satellites and stuff we have been leaving there for years …
Yes, I heard the space is crowded… without talking about the meteorite that might hurt planet earth in a year!
I like it all except the space junk idea. Seems we already have way to much stuff floating around our planet. I would like the engineers to find a way to convert the bags full of fine particles into compost and start a garden on Mars instead. Then if there are any martians, they might like us when we come to visit.
Now we talk! The garden on Mars made out of our garbage, that’s visionary!
