Sometimes, we think we have failed to do something that we are actually already doing… but it’s rare!
There are many things I do that can qualify as “meditative”, like walking in nature, drawing, or looking at the trees through the window of my office. I let my mind wander and I come out of my wandering with more clarity and calm.
However, sitting on the cushion to practice traditional meditation (I’ve learned a Tibetan practice), following the thread of my breath, maintaining my posture, coming back to my breath when I’m derailed by my mind… That, I have a hard time accomplishing.
But in 2018, I’m committed to sitting on the cushion. Uh, and yes, practice real meditation!
You too might feel ready to define and anchor your intentions and practices for 2018. But you might also feel that certain aspirations remain undefined and will likely emerge during the coming year.
What is alive in your heart and spirit? What preoccupies you? What needs to be cared for this year? Today? Do you have a meditative practice to support your aspirations?
Welcome to new possibilities in 2018!
